Disputing a payment made to Chitran International Online Art Classes, LLC begins a bank or payment-provider investigation; it does not automatically cancel the underlying subscription, establish that the payment was unauthorized or guarantee that money will be returned permanently. The issuer decides the outcome under its procedures. Chitran may respond with enrollment consent, billing records, attendance information, access logs, communications and other proof that the customer authorized the purchase and that the educational service was made available.
The distinction between a legitimate dispute and an improper chargeback matters. A genuinely stolen card, an unrecognized duplicate transaction or a demonstrable processing error should be reported promptly. By contrast, using a dispute to reverse a payment that was knowingly authorized, merely because a renewal was forgotten or a student did not attend, can be treated as an abusive or fraudulent payment dispute.
Chitran's published website language states that abusive or fraudulent disputes can cause immediate account and class suspension and may result in a permanent school ban. That is a serious consequence: a student can lose access while a dispute is reviewed, and an account connected with deliberate payment abuse may not be permitted to enroll again. The warning should not be confused with a claim that every customer who contacts a bank is dishonest. The facts and dispute reason remain important.
What could you lose after an improper dispute?
A customer should consider the full cost before filing a chargeback against an authorized payment. Losing the bank case may leave the family in a worse position than resolving the billing concern directly.
- The tuition payment. If the issuer decides the charge was authorized and supported, any temporary credit can be removed and the original tuition remains paid.
- Permanent access to Chitran. An abusive or fraudulent dispute can lead to immediate suspension and may result in the student being permanently banned from Chitran International Online Art Classes, LLC.
- Current classes and recordings. Access to live sessions, class links, learning materials, recordings and the student account may be suspended while the payment is disputed.
- Future enrollment opportunities. A permanently restricted account may be unable to purchase another course, rejoin a class or enroll through a related family account.
- Time and administrative effort. A chargeback can require statements, documents, follow-up messages and weeks of waiting, while a direct billing review may resolve a genuine mistake faster.
- A temporary bank credit. Money provisionally returned during the investigation can be withdrawn again if the issuer rules for the merchant.
- Trust attached to the account. A false fraud allegation can conflict with consent, attendance, access and communication records and can damage the family's relationship with the school.
- Possible additional consequences. The payment provider or card issuer may maintain its own records and apply its own procedures when it identifies inaccurate or abusive claims.
This warning does not apply in the same way to genuine card theft, a verified duplicate charge or a documented billing error. Those issues should be reported promptly and truthfully.
What actually happens after a payment dispute
A chargeback typically starts when a cardholder asks the issuing bank to review a transaction. The customer selects a reason, supplies an explanation and may provide supporting documents. The issuer may issue a temporary credit, but that provisional amount is not necessarily the final outcome. The payment travels backward through a card-network process, and the merchant receives a notice with a deadline to accept or challenge the claim.
If Chitran contests the dispute, it can assemble a response addressing the exact reason code. A claim that the payment was not recognized calls for authorization and identity evidence. A claim that service was not received calls for proof of access, scheduling, live-class delivery, recordings or communications. A cancellation claim calls for the billing timeline, cancellation request and subscription status. Sending unrelated documents is less useful than answering the precise allegation.
The issuer then considers the material submitted by both sides. Depending on the card network, jurisdiction and stage of the case, the review may take weeks or longer. During that period, a provisional bank credit can be reversed. A customer should therefore avoid treating temporary funds as a final refund until the issuer confirms the case has closed.
A records-based process
A chargeback is reviewed, not simply granted
The important questions are whether the cardholder authorized the payment, what recurring terms were presented, whether cancellation occurred before renewal, and whether the purchased service was supplied or made available.

Why Chitran may have substantial evidence
The checkout shown on Chitran's website includes a consent step for the Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Refund Policy. It also describes the purchase as a recurring subscription that continues to bill at the displayed interval until cancellation. The website's agreement record says it may store a timestamp and technical identifiers and may use the record as evidence in a dispute. These records can make a simple “I did not know” claim difficult to sustain when the payment history and service activity point the other way.
Evidence does not consist of one screenshot alone. A coherent merchant response may connect multiple records: the account holder's name and email; the transaction date and amount; the checkout session; acknowledgement of policies; billing address or other verification; device, network or session data where lawfully collected; the student's class placement; delivery of Zoom information; attendance; access to recordings; support messages; and any later attempt to cancel.
For recurring billing, earlier undisputed payments may also provide context. If the same customer used the service over several cycles and then disputes only the newest renewal, the issuer may compare that pattern with the stated cancellation date. That does not decide the case automatically, but it can contradict a claim that the merchant relationship was completely unknown.
Policy acceptance is more than a sentence
When a customer checks an agreement box and completes payment, the business may preserve the policy version, time of acceptance and transaction record. The strength of that evidence depends on what was actually displayed, captured and delivered. The bank evaluates it; the merchant does not unilaterally declare itself the winner.
Customers should save the receipt and a copy of the terms they accepted. Clear personal records protect both sides when memory and billing dates later become uncertain.
If you forgot to cancel the subscription
Forgetting to cancel is frustrating, but it normally does not turn a previously authorized recurring payment into card theft. Chitran's published rules describe subscriptions as automatically renewing and place responsibility on the customer to manage cancellation through the billing portal. The rules state that cancellation should be completed at least seven days before the next billing date to avoid renewal, and that a late cancellation takes effect after the active billing cycle rather than retroactively erasing a processed payment.
The first practical step is to cancel future renewal immediately through the official billing portal and keep the confirmation. Then contact support with the account email, transaction date and a concise explanation. Do not exaggerate the facts. Ask whether there is a duplicate charge, technical error or other issue that the billing team can verify. An honest request gives the school a chance to investigate without the cost and restrictions of a formal chargeback.
If the service remains active for the paid period, record what access is available. The school's rules say that processed subscription payments are non-refundable and that access can remain until the cycle ends. Whether a mandatory consumer right overrides a contractual term can depend on location and circumstances; customers seeking legal advice should consult a qualified local professional.
What about pausing, not attending or missing the policy?
“I thought the subscription was paused.” A conversation about pausing is not necessarily the same as a completed billing change. Check for a written confirmation that states the effective date and next charge date. If the portal or support team confirmed a pause but billing continued contrary to that confirmation, send the document to support and, if necessary, to the issuer. If no confirmation exists, explain the conversation accurately instead of claiming the payment was unauthorized.
“I did not attend the classes.” Non-attendance and non-delivery are different. Chitran's terms say that missed live classes may be supported by recordings and that access to classes, links or recorded content can constitute delivery. A family that chooses not to attend may still have received the purchased availability. Gather the schedule, access emails and any technical problems before deciding how to describe the situation.
“I never saw the policies.” The relevant question is what appeared during the actual checkout and what the customer acknowledged, not what the customer remembers later. The current checkout includes links and an agreement checkbox. If a customer believes the disclosure was absent or the box was not selected by them, they should describe that specific issue and preserve screenshots or browser records if available. A broad claim of not reading a visible policy is not the same as proof that no agreement existed.
“The student no longer wanted classes.” A change of mind does not itself reverse a completed billing cycle. It is a reason to cancel future renewal promptly. Families can use remaining access during the active period and preserve the cancellation confirmation for the next billing date.
“The amount appeared twice.” A duplicate charge is materially different from a forgotten renewal. Compare the dates, amounts, receipts and pending versus posted status. Some pending authorizations disappear without settling. If two completed charges cover the same service period, contact support immediately with both transaction references. Chitran's refund information says validated accidental duplicate charges are handled separately.
“I do not recognize the card use at all.” Genuine unauthorized use should be reported to the bank quickly, and the cardholder should secure the card and account. Also notify Chitran so it can locate the enrollment and prevent further use. Do not share full card numbers by ordinary email. Follow the bank's security instructions.
Could the student be permanently banned?
Yes, the school's published support language says an abusive or fraudulent chargeback can cause suspension and may result in a permanent school ban. The strongest wording applies to improper conduct, not to every good-faith billing question. An immediate suspension can protect the school from continuing to deliver a service while its payment is being reversed. A permanent ban is the possible long-term consequence when the school concludes that the account engaged in payment abuse or fraud.
This is why a family should not select “fraud” merely because it forgot to cancel, disliked a class or wants a faster refund. A false reason can conflict with account activity, earlier payments, consent records and communications. It can also damage the relationship needed to resolve a genuine administrative mistake. State the correct reason and provide accurate dates.
Does paying mean agreeing to every policy?
The current Chitran checkout asks the payer to agree to the Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Refund Policy before completing payment, and it separately identifies recurring billing. Completing that flow can create evidence of assent to the policies presented at that time. It is more precise to say the payer agrees to the terms incorporated into the checkout than to claim that payment magically approves any document, including a later undisclosed change.
Families should read the linked policies before paying, especially the renewal interval, cancellation deadline, refund limitations, attendance rules and available billing channel. If a parent or guardian pays for a child, the adult payer should use an email address they monitor and place the renewal date on a calendar. Responsibility for the subscription should not be left to the student.
The safest way to resolve a billing problem
Start by identifying the exact issue. Is it an unknown transaction, an accidental duplicate, a renewal after a confirmed cancellation, a forgotten cancellation, a service-access problem or dissatisfaction? Each category needs different evidence and language. Download the receipt, check the card statement, note the billing cycle and locate any cancellation confirmation.
Next, prevent additional confusion. Use the official billing portal to cancel future renewal if that is what you want. Take a screenshot of the confirmation and record the effective date. Contact the school's support address from the email connected with the account. Include the student's name, payer's name, last four digits only if requested through an appropriate channel, transaction date, amount and a short timeline. Never email a complete card number or security code.
Give support a reasonable opportunity to investigate a correctable error. If the charge is genuinely unauthorized, promptly protect the payment account and follow the issuer's fraud process. If the dispute is contractual, describe the facts without labeling an authorized renewal as theft. Keep every response, because the same timeline may later be requested by the bank.
What not to do
Do not fabricate a stolen-card story, delete relevant messages, submit altered screenshots or ask another person to make a contradictory claim. Do not assume a temporary bank credit is permanent. Do not keep using classes or recordings while simultaneously asserting that no service was supplied. Do not open multiple cases for the same transaction in an attempt to obtain duplicate reimbursement.
Also do not ignore the dispute after filing it. Banks can request more information within a deadline. A vague initial reason may need clarification. If the school directly resolves the issue, tell the issuer so the records do not show two competing refund processes. Cooperation and accurate documentation usually produce a clearer outcome than threats.
A balanced conclusion
Chitran can have a strong response when its records show an authorized recurring subscription, explicit policy acknowledgement and delivered class access. That is why an improper chargeback may fail and why abusive conduct can lead to suspension or permanent exclusion. But no school can truthfully predetermine every issuer's decision, and no credible report should manufacture a 99-percent loss rate without independently verifiable data.
The practical lesson is simple: read before paying, keep the renewal date, cancel through the official method, save confirmation and contact support quickly when something looks wrong. Use the bank's dispute process for genuine unresolved problems and describe the reason precisely. That protects legitimate cardholder rights without turning an administrative oversight into an allegation of fraud.
